This photo brings back the lovely memory of a banquet I once attended, when I spoke for a while with a young lady wearing a sleeveless gown that, from the front, was basically a skin-tight black sheath from neckline to floor. Later in the evening, I spied her from behind, across the room, and I was amazed to see that her gown plunged down her back as low as it could possibly go, almost to the point of no return, to that place beneath the small of the back but above anything inelegant. The contrast from front to back was astonishing, and the tension of the boundary of the scoop in back was electrifying.
A moon manicure, also often called a half-moon or reverse French manicure, is a style of nail polishing that got its start in the 1930s. In this style, a half-moon shape at the base of the nail is left unpolished or is painted in a contrasting color from the rest of the nail. The lunula is the natural crescent shape most people have under their nails at the cuticle.
