That certainly looks like Shelly Duvall
I believe our ethereal heroine may have been strongly influenced by the greatest female poet who ever put pen to paper: Emily Dickinson. The brilliant and eccentric Emily loved gardening and was dedicated to the wearing of floaty white garments. The lady's mysteriously dreamy expression is reminiscent of that worn by Emily in the only extant photo of her.
