The hotel was owned by William Watson and his wife, Anna. The Daytona Daily News of January 29, 1910, carries an ad for the Mildred Lodge, formerly known as Mildred Villa. The hotel was named for their oldest child, Mildred May Watson.
The men's coats, as well as that of the little girl, suggests strongly it is not 92 degrees outdoors this day.
