I live a mile from the NEW train station, relocated to the west side in the '60s!

This was the third station at the site -- the earlier two had burned -- and it looks like they took no chances, allowing that number to carry over into the design (presumably the outbuildings were for baggage and express, but maybe an old-time Saratogan -- it was replaced in 1960 -- can tell us for sure.)

Updated: a check of Sanborn maps confirms the outer pavillions housed baggage facilities, tho the further one - which is actually somewhat larger - originally housed a lunch room as well. Notcom
