The prior comment had be a bit confused, because I thought I knew enough about pipes/tubes to know what sort of varieties they came in - so I sought out the wisdom of the internet and discovered that "kalamein" is a process of putting a thin layer of metal over a base, be it for the purposed of fireproofing a wooden door, or adding corrosion resistance to iron pipe. It was trademarked originally as "Silvertin" pipe, unlike galvanized piping which is a thin wash of another metal bonded with electricity, kalameined pipes have a layer of applied sheet metal encasing the pipe.
