Millard Lewis became a major general in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and later the Air Force. Capt. David D. Hedekin commanded the Headquarters Company at Fort McPherson, Georgia, from 1936 until 1938 - when he was killed when playing in a polo tournament. The parade field at Fort McPherson now bears his name.
