"1948." Our young man explores his agricultural inclinations with a Farmall tractor. 35mm Kodachrome slide found on eBay. View full size.
From what I've seen so far, I suspect these aren't family photos at all, but a series of photos taken to display department store clothing or the work of a photographic studio.
Everyone (including the red toy tractor) are immaculately turned out. The prints are of professional if not amazing quality and the "family"poses just don't say "we're related" to me.
[Commercial photographs were taken on large-format film stock, not on 35mm slides. These are entirely consistent with the work of a talented amateur camera bug of the period. - tterrace]
Judging by the facial scrapes, it seems our young man is still honing his skills in the fine art of walking. And judging by the drool on his chin, he's also cutting some teeth.
