I went off my usual tack with this one, consciously moving towards a more stylised piece. Existing colourisations give her a peach coloured sash and a green/brown background, which the black and white tones certainly suggest. This one was really an exercise in restraint with tonal variation on the skin in particular, and experiment with iridescent colours on the silk sash; I thought a royal purple background would tie everything together and reference the given title appropriately. Nicely done! Your attempts at catching the iridescence of the fabric have been very successful and I particularly like how you have varied the skin tone. So often we see pictures where the colourist has thought 'this is skin, therefore I will make it skin-coloured' and has not paid any attention to the fact that flesh tones are nuanced by the colours in the surroundings. Great stuff!
