Washington, D.C., ca. 1920. "Semmes Motor Co. -- Dodge Bros. truck." At the Sanitary Grocery. National Photo Company glass negative. View full size.
George Gill's paint store was at 640-642 Pennsylvania Ave. S.E. There were dozens of Sanitary Grocery locations including one on the corner at Seventh and Pennsylvania S.E. The building is gone but the angle of the corner and the presence of a median appears to match.
