Today, of course, Conduit Road is called MacArthur Boulevard.
To answer Paul's question, the conduit did not have a fully circular cross-section. The photo below gives a good view.
Note the tracks on the left, and some dump cars in the center of the photo.
Was it circular diameter or a half diameter with a shallow trough bed laid on the grade?
