A St. Augustine, Florida, street view circa 1865. View full size. Left half of a wet-collodion glass-plate stereograph made by Samuel A. Cooley.
It's also interesting how, in these street views in cities in the 1860's, there are no McDonalds wrappers, Coke cans, or candy bar wrappers lying around. Seriously though, there is just no litter of any sort. I suppose every piece of wood, tin, or paper was valuable to someone at this time.
