as well as your welcome mat. Although the two quaint chairs seem to invite a caller to "set a spell" it is obvious that these were some very poor people. Living in New Jersey, they did have electricity (native son Thomas Edison had died just seven years before) but that minimalist porch light could use an upgrade and the kid desperately needs a new sweater. Few current New Jersey residents would be able to live there at today's prices or even pay the high taxes on their property.
Is that a four-cylinder distributor cap set in the wall that the light is hooked to? For that matter, it looks like a plug wire plugged into the cap and taped to the wire from the light.
