New York circa 1924. "Koshetz and child." The soprano Nina Koshetz and her daughter Marina Schubert. 5x7 glass negative, Bain News Service. View full size.
Nina Koshetz was an important singer of her era, and her records are prized by collectors. Look up some of her recordings on YouTube to hear her great voice, and to see some more attractive portraits of her.
And here I thought there was something new in fashion.
Marina appeared in about a dozen films, including "The Singing Nun," (1966). That film featured an assortment of actors you wouldn't expect to find together: Debbie Reynolds, Greer Garson, Agnes Moorehead, Katherine Ross, Juanita Moore, and Ed Sullivan.
