Big sister, a vision in turquoise tulle. Somewhere in the United States circa 1952. Found 35mm Kodachrome transparency, Set 2. View full size.
So, is that YOU in the corner, being the pesky little brother? Your sister looks wonderful! Did she and your mom make the dress?
[This was way before I came along. The slides I've posted in the Kodachrome galleries were found on eBay and in thrift shops. - Dave]
What a great radio in the background and really fantastic 50s wallpaper , too.
That wallpaper hurts my eyes.
I love the detail of the nurse photo on the table, that is totally HER in another few years!
"Big sister" is standing next to a General Electric console radio that is similar to this GE E-68-2 model; note the difference in the number of front-panel knobs: 3 vs. 5. Following General Electric's model numbering scheme prior to WW II, "E" models were built in 1936.
