April 2, 1923. Washington, D.C. A happy Easter egg roller at the White House. National Photo Company Collection glass negative. View full size.
I've seen small signet rings before and wondered who wore them. Young boys, perhaps? He has such a bright, smiling face that really speaks of spring.
And, being all boy, he has a nice big scar in the middle of his forehead, probably from tripping and falling while running full tilt.
That is very true. He is also wearing a very nice ring on his right hand, I can't tell what it is though.
This little boy is wearing a handsome wool tweed suit with leather buttons, short pants and knee socks. It used to be a rite of passage when boys received their first pair of long pants. This is a great photo for this boy's descendants to treasure. I don't know the National Photo Company's policy for distribution of their photos, but I hope this boy's parents received a print!
