I can imagine how hot and uncomfortable he must be in such heavy work clothes behind the controls of a huge machine with probably little or no insulation between himself and the engine compartment. These men really were a different breed!
The amount of detail captured in these early Kodachrome transparencies is just jaw-dropping. The composition in this image has an appropriately monumental feel. Thanks, as always, Dave for these photographic gems!
