July 1967, Kings Canyon National Park, California. My mother, brother and father around the campfire, photographed in Kodachrome by the light of a Coleman lantern. Bonus: antique enameled coffeepot. View full size.
Ahh, camping. I don't go car camping without my blue enameled steel cookset. Stove or fire, just add heat and the coffee's on its way. A few years ago I splurged and bought a percolator insert for the coffeepot. That's magic on a cold morning I tell ya.
My poor coffee and cooking pots have gone from nice shiny blue to black from all the fires they've endured. Good thing they're not antiques, just $12 at the local hardware store.
Camping = good times
