... is a popular expression, in French Québec, meaning a whole lot of fun. Ils ont eu un fun noir -- "they had so much fun." (I know Dave made a wordplay, but still it surprised me to see that expression.)
I was so caught up in the lights and decorations that I didn't even notice the people at first--with the soft blurring they look like lights too.
This picture makes me want to go back and feel what it was like to live back then.
