This is the first of these shots to remind me of Terry Gilliam's movie "Brazil." Just needs to be a little less well lit, but the machines are as imposing.
No guard covers on the motor belts.
Looks to me as though they're making capacitors - strips of metal foil separated by an insulating strip - all wound into a cylinder. Used for filtering they allow AC current to pass, but prevent the passage of DC current.
Looking for the fire exit ... Hmm ... Maybe it's behind the guys in suits?
I always wondered how they made all those capacitors.
