To be able to know the history of these kids. The older ones in back may have served in WWI while the younger ones in front served in WWII.

Those are striped shoes on the smiling kid over toward the right in the front row. Pretty wild compared to other styles we're used to seeing in these vintage photos.
Jeez. Is that a gun the cub scout in the front row is holding? The one dressed up, with the cap, towards the left side?

Talk about variable temperatures. They're all in shorts, and the little miss standing next to her brother on the left has a hat AND tights AND a coat. And some of the guys seem to have all of that, too. I guess participants dressed down, audience stayed clothed.
