Federal soldiers killed July 1, 1863, near the McPherson woods. Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. View full size. Wet collodion glass plate, half of stereograph pair. Photograph by Timothy H. O'Sullivan.
I agree with you. I would like to recommend to you The Civil War In Depth by Bob Zeller. Many of the images seen here as complete stereo pairs, with a stereo viewer.. really a fun book
Awesome book, might I add! Hopefully we'll be able to see it made into a film like its two companion pieces, but it looks like the process is taking painfully long.
May I ask....what is the LOC site?
[Library of Congress. - Dave]
Is there anything quite as frustrating as the phrase "Half of a stereo pair"?
Well y'know, the other half looks pretty much just like this one. You can find it (and thousands of other complete stereo pairs) on the LOC site. - Dave
