Washington, D.C., circa 1928. "Guaranty Storage Co. truck." Guaranty guarantees to lay not a scratch on your furniture, but the van is another matter. Added attraction here: turnbuckle stars! National Photo glass negative. View full size.
Truck chassis was built by the White Motor Co.
You don't see turnbuckle stars every day, and the antenna was a nice find as well.
Is that a Packard truck?
Well, thank you Dave and Shorpy! I thought I knew a little bit about vintage construction, but--though there's a name for everything--I never knew what those spectial ornamental masonry washers were called.
For those of you looking for modern reproductions, they're only a mouse-click away:

Who knew?
Of course not. The accidents had in vehicles of that vintage were ghastly, grisly matters. And the audio systems stank!
Not only that, but it looks like "Wireless" Vinny Brennan lives
here too.
