This is surely the Helen Clifford whose father was Col. Edward Clifford, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Andrew Mellon, also pictured in this collection. The colonel lived with his daughter at 1804 45th St NW until his death in 1963.

Awhile back I asked this 2'nd cousin once removed why he was wearing aviator goggles in this picture as a kid. Now in his 90's, he informed me that this was a studio picture and the attire was quite the fad during the early days of aviation.
